Coldest Night of the Year
It’s cold out there. And on February 22, I’m going to do something about it. This Saturday I will be participating in a walk to raise money for Out of the Cold, which provides safe, respectful and welcoming overnight accommodation and meals to those experiencing homelessness from November to April, in the community. Many of the people using these services are employed but struggle with finding affordable housing. Please support me in raising money for this worthwhile local charity by donating to my team.

6th Line and 10th Sideroad improvements
The Town of New Tecumseth has completed a Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to facilitate improvements to the intersection of 10th Sideroad and 6th Line. A Public Information Centre was held on October 8, 2019 to present several alternative solutions and to solicit input from stakeholders. As a result of comments received, Alternative D – Signalization has been selected as the Preferred Solution. This alternative proposes to mitigate the limited sight lines by providing protection for traffic turning movements.

Committee members needed
The Heritage Committee is looking for new members. Meetings occur every third month on Tuesdays at 7:00 P.M. at the Joint Operations Centre in Beeton. The Heritage New Tecumseth Advisory Committee provides information and makes recommendations to the Council with regard to the Town’s requirements under the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, Parts IV and V and to perform duties of the committee as specified under the Act.
